I spoke about my two words for the year yesterday and today I am going to fill you in on my goals for the first 3 months of 2013. I decided (like many others this year) to break my goals down into shorter time periods instead of for the whole year. You see, I work better under pressure, if I have the whole year I will get about 10% of my goals complete (that might even be optimistic) so if I give myself less time I am hoping I will get more done. Makes sense right… maybe?
So here are my goals. I chose 4 they are very doable I think, but I am going to need to keep focused to get them done.
1. Finish reading the Old Testament Minor Profits.
Though I grew up going to Christian school and even took an Old Testament class in College (where I was supposed to read the entire old testament) I have never read all of the minor prophets. So I am going to do it.
2. Read 3 Books
I am an avid reader, and normally my goal would be much loftier, but I am a mom now, so I can only read a few books. 2 of those books will be book club books, that leaves room for one choice of my own. I may read more, but I am going to keep it doable.
3. Complete the first 3 lessons of my online photography class
I bought a groupon for a photography class online that I am super excited about. I have a DSLR that I am pretty good with, but I still am not all that great with manual mode and could really learn so much more. It is a 15 lesson course so I am thinking doing 3 now is a good goal. I will pick up the slack in the summer when I am off of work.
4. Be able to run 3 miles again
I have never ever been in this bad shape my entire life. I have been an avid runner since 6th grade when I joined track for the first time. I use to be able to take a few months off (sometimes even 6 months) and still go out and run 3 miles with out getting too worked up. Now I can barely run 1 mile and I feel very discouraged about it. So I am giving myself the goal to be able to run a 5k by the end of March. I am thinking I may need to do the Couch to 5K things. Something I never though I would have to do. This is me swallowing humble pie though, because I use to think people who needed a program like that were lazy…
And because I can’t post on my blog with out including a cute pic of Miss Millie here she is today hanging out in her Minnie outfit and her Bumbo. She is getting so good at sitting up in her Bumbo and actually prefers sitting up to lying down these days. She is also rocking the leggings and Minnie shirt. Loving it!!! Gosh I am going to miss hanging out with my little nugget every day.

I think a shorter deadline will make things much easier!
Millie looks so big in this picture, too cute. I love the idea of quarterly ideas. I envy you your ability to run. I want to do a 5k so badly but after breaking my foot when I was pregnant I am not sure I will be able to run. Blah.
oh my how cute she is. you are blessed indeed!
